πŸ’«πŸ˜ƒ Flaming Firework Fun! πŸ˜ƒπŸ’«

One minute it’s Halloween, the next minute it’s Bonfire Night! Before we know it, it’ll be Christmas! Yes I know, I’ve gone and said the ‘c’ word! But don’t fret, I won’t mention it again (well, not today anyway!) as there’s too much to say about the fabulous fifth of November!

First and foremost, and being the animal-lover that I am, I feel I must warn you about bonfires and what could be lurking within them. Especially if it’s been standing for a few days, waiting patiently for Bonfire Night. All sorts of creatures have a tendency to hide amongst piles of sticks and logs – we only know too well from ‘The Gruffalo’, as the snake in the story lives in a log pile house of course! πŸ˜‰

Now, it’s not snakes I’m thinking of, with it being a typical damp and dreary November day here in bonny Blighty, but hedgehogs and similar small wild furries. Please take a look at the image below, thank you.

Ok, so that’s my responsible, nature safety bit done. Now onto more fun things! “Do you happen to have a Whimsy Wood story about fireworks, or the month of November?” I hear you ask. Well, funnily enough I do! In fact, ‘Posie Pixie And The Fireworks Party’, (my fourth Whimsy Wood children’s book) is both about fireworks and this marvellous month (let’s try and stay positive!) of November! Here’s the front cover of ‘Posie Pixie And The Fireworks Party’, to wet your whistle so to speak!

In this particular story, ‘Posie Pixie’ is going to be paid a visit by a certain special someone….Who could this be I wonder? Will Posie be pleased? Well, you’ll just have to read the story to find out! πŸ˜‰πŸ˜Š To tempt you even more I shall give you a wee extract from this ‘fan-fizzle-tastic’ book (according to ‘Ping Pixie’ that is!)

‘…….we’ve not had a fireworks party in Whimsy Wood for years!” Mr Bilberry whistled. “You’ll need toffee-apples, flapjack and crackle-crunch cakes you know Posie.”

“Oh yes and we’ll have pixie hokey-pokey and scrumptious slow-slush!” she said, whilst dancing about happily in her purple pixie boots.

“Now in all my days, I’ve not heard of those! They sound delicious!” He trilled.

“Hmmm, I’d better write some invitations too,” Posie said and she adjusted her bluebell hat, which jingled and tinkled as she did so. …’

Last but not least, here are some cracking comments about ‘Posie Pixie And The Fireworks Party’ that I’d like to share with you. πŸ˜ƒ

“Adorably British! I wished this book was in my library when I was a young gal.” – Vegbooks.org Β Washington, DC, USA.

“It was really funny when Wibble snored with her feet in the air! It’s so cool that Ping is a boy pixie who sometimes sets fire to his hair!” – Rory Gaule, aged 5 years.

“Children smile their way through this book, whether listening or reading for themselves. There’s a plethora of woodland animals helping the ever cheerful Posie and the ‘squeak, squeak, squeak’ of Wibble Woodlouse, children just adore!” – Mrs Kerry Parker, Deputy Head at Corsham Primary School, Corsham, Wiltshire.
